Richard Hyland is retired from the military sea services (Navy and Coast Guard) where he conducted inspections for nearly two decades. His many years of experience have given him a critical eye for safety and compliance to standards. Keeping our seaports and ships safe was a very rewarding duty for him. After leaving active duty, he spent 20 years in the repair and remodeling trade. He has repaired or installed all of the mechanical systems (plumbing, electrical, air conditioning and heating) you find in your home. The years spent in the South Florida Carpenters Union Apprenticeship Program gave him his formal building and carpentry training. He is an EPA certified air conditioning technician. A plus for you is that Richard has worked on the systems he inspects.
Richard has also received formal property inspection education from Inspection Training Associates (ITA) the only American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) approved school; as well as, continual educational credits, from ITA, ASHI and InterNACHI. He is a member of the InterNational Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI), the International Code Council (ICC) and Enviromental Solutions Association (ESA). Richard has successfully completed the National Home Inspector Examination required by most states for a Home Inspector license. He is a licensed, certified and insured property inspector.
Richard is also a "My Safe Florida Home" certified inspector. My Safe Florida Home is a former state run program for wind mitigation inspections. He is also a Florida State certified Radon Measurement Technian.
